Located at Level 5, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is able to manage patients with a wide range of medical conditions in cardiology, neurology, medical, surgery and orthopedic. It is built in close proximity to facilities for day surgery, major surgeries and procedures. This allows quick access to vital services should patients require them.
Housed in two separate sections with separate doors, the ICU is a facility well planned to manage infection cases- one section can be used to contain infection cases in the event of a disease outbreak with some rooms designed with positive and negative air pressure systems. The nursing station is built in a way to allow a wide angle view of all rooms so that patients and their conditions can be well observed. It is also well equipped with clinical information systems from which patients’ vital signs, ECG and ventilator settings are recorded on real time. Each ICU room is also installed with dialysis tap for Haemodialysis.
