Kidney disease is exponentially increasing in Singapore with the number of kidney failure patients projected to cross 48,000 by year 2035. Singapore is #1 in the world for diabetes induced kidney failure and #4 in the world for prevalence of kidney failure patients (per capita).

In this CME talk, we will look at updates in the management of hypertension, albuminuria (both diabetic and non-diabetic) and CKD, to help primary care and specialists to reduce the progression of kidney disease.

Dr. Behram Ali Khan
Nephrologist

Dr. Behram Ali Khan is a Senior Consultant Nephrologist and Asst Professor of Medicine.  He received his training in USA and is American Board Certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine, with Singapore Medical Council accreditation in Renal Medicine.  He has over 25 years of experience in the medical field and has served in various leadership positions.  Dr Behram continues his medical practice at both public and private sectors in Singapore and his Teaching/Research activities at National University of Singapore and Duke-NUS.

Dr. Behram has a keen interest in Chronic Disease management, Kidney Diseases, Hypertension, Diabetes, Obesity, Longevity Medicine, Internal Medicine disorders, Dialysis and Acute Kidney injuries.  He also performs Interventional Nephrology procedures.

His specialty interests are medical disorders, kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, dialysis, interventional nephrology  procedures, chronic disease management, obesity and longevity medicine.
