Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in Singapore men. Existing standard treatments using daVinci robotic radical prostatectomy or external beam radiotherapy (including SBRT or proton beam radiotherapy) can cause life-changing side effects due to urine leak or impotence.
Focal therapy for prostate cancer kills only the cancerous region and spares the normal prostate gland, which reduces these potential side effects.
In this talk, we will discuss different types of energy sources in focal therapy, patient selection criteria and management regimes.

Dr Chong Kian Tai (张建泰医生) a certified Surgeon Specialist in Urology in private practice who manages urology cancers, prostate with men's health and general urology. He completed Urologic Oncology training at the prestigious Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York, and received several awards from Southwest Oncology Group (USA), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR Singapore), and National Medical Research Council (Singapore).
