Dr. Ang Peng Chye is Consultant Psychiatrist at The Psychiatric and Behavioural Medicine Clinic as well as founder and Behavioral Science Consultant with the Centre for Effective Living. His keen professional interests lie in psychosomatic medicine, stress research and psychogeriatrics.
He was a lecturer at National University of Singapore’s Department of Psychological Medicine for two years before leaving for private practice in 1987. At the organizational level, he has been a consultant to many corporations and institutions on managing stress, transitions and developing models for effective cross-cultural awareness.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Singapore in 1978. After serving his national service, he trained at the Royal Free Hospital in the U.K. in Psychiatry. In 1985, he become a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the U.K.
Dr. Ang is an active advocate in community work. He is currently the President of the Alzheimer's Disease Association.
Dr. Ang's specialty interests are psychogeriatrics, psychosomatic medicine, and stress research.
