Dr. Liu Jiaying is a Consultant Ear Nose & Throat (ENT) surgeon and the Medical Director of Aurion ENT & Hearing Centre. Her special interests are in ear infections, hearing loss, vertigo, and facial nerve disorders.
She is experienced in ENT surgery, particularly adult and pediatric hearing loss, cochlear implants, and acoustic neuroma surgery. In addition, she sees them for other ENT disorders such as tonsilitis, sinusitis, snoring, hoarseness, and thyroid lumps.
Before establishing Aurion ENT, she was in public service for 16 years and was conferred multiple service excellence awards.
Dr. Liu founded the Hearing Implant Program at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and was its lead implant surgeon. She also led her Hearing Implant Team to win the Team Service Excellence award in 2018. In addition, Dr. Liu served as Director of the JurongHealth Hearing Implant Fund, assisting patients in need of bone-conducting and cochlear implants.
Dr. Liu graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2005 and completed specialist Otorhinolaryngology training in 2014. Her interest in ear surgery began when she won the Best Temporal Bone Dissection prize at the 2011 Asia Pacific- Singapore Otology Neurotology Skull Base congress. She went on to clinch the Singapore Ministry of Health’s scholarship for sub-specialty training in otology and lateral skull base surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, Australia, in 2015. During the fellowship, she was given hands-on surgical training in challenging otology and neurotology cases.
Dr. Liu holds a Graduate Certificate in Digital Health from Singapore Management University. One of her interests is in helping patients receive more efficient care using digital technology. She served as a council member on the Chapter of Otorhinolaryngologists, Academy of Medicine from 2019-2021.
She actively promotes hearing awareness and prevention of occupational hearing loss.
