Dr. David Bell graduated from the National University of Singapore (1995) and obtained his surgical fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (2001). He was conferred the Master of Medicine in Orthopedics by the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (2002). He completed Advanced Specialist Training in Orthopaedic Surgery, obtaining the FRCS Ed (Orth) (2006) and was on Health Manpower Development Programme scholarship at the Charite University (Berlin, Germany) and trained in specialist fields of Adult Reconstruction (Hip and Knee Anthroplasty) and managing complex musculoskeletal trauma. He provided care for German women’s hockey teams during his time there.
Dr. Bell is a specialist in management of traumatic injuries of the musculoskeletal system, deformity correction and degenerative conditions of the hip and knee, with interests in hip and knee conditions. He is trained in minimally invasive and keyhole surgical techniques.
Prior to private practice, he served as Consultant and Director of the Orthopaedic Trauma Service at Changi General Hospital (CGH), and was a clinical lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS).
He remains a visiting consultant at CGH, lending his expertise in complex trauma management and joint reconstruction. He is also active in medical education, having received the Orthopaedic Teaching Excellence Award and was Chairman and instructor for numerous international and regional instructional courses.
Dr. Bell's specialty interests are arthroscopy, cartilage repair, computer guided surgery, knee/hip replacement and trauma surgery.
