Dr. Teo Yee Sze is an orthopedic surgeon with more than 10 years of experience. He provides specialized care in adult reconstructive and trauma surgeries.
Prior to private practice, he was a Consultant at Changi General Hospital (CGH)’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery and was instrumental in setting up and expanding the Adult Reconstructive Division.
Dr. Teo graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1999. He later underwent basic training and completed his postgraduate training in Orthopedic Surgery, becoming a Member and inducted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2002 and 2007 respectively. In 2003, Dr. Lim obtained his Master of Medicine (Orthopedic Surgery) from NUS.
After he received the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) Fellowship Award, Dr. Lim received training in Adult Reconstructive and Trauma Surgery at the world renowned Rorabeck Bourne Joint Replacement Clinic at the University of Western Ontario in Canada in 2008. There, he was mentored by leading orthopedic surgeons, Professor CH Rorebeck, Professor RB Bourne and Professor SJ McDonald, and performed numerous highly complex primary and revision arthroplasty surgeries.
Apart from clinical work, research is also of great interest to Dr. Teo. He has been awarded multiple research grants and has also authored numerous research papers in peer reviewed scientific journals such as the Journal of Arthroplasty and the American Journal of Sports Medicine. In addition, he has also participated in several multicenter trials as principal and co-investigator, especially in the area of adult reconstructive surgery.
In addition to research, Dr. Teo is a strong believer of teaching and training future generations of doctors and orthopedic surgeons. He has been a Clinical Tutor at NUS’ Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine since 2003, where he dedicates his time to the nurturing of medical students and post-graduate trainees. Since 2010, Dr. Teo has been the Adjunct Assistant Professor at Changi General Hospital, where he is responsible for teaching medical students.
