Dr Lam graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1983. She completed her training in internal medicine and attained the Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) in 1988 and membership of the Royal College of Physicians in UK (MRCP) in 1989. She completed her advanced training in infectious diseases in Singapore and the US and spent 2 years as a clinical and research post-doctoral fellow in infectious diseases at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School (USA). She is on the Specialist Register, Singapore Medical Council and is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
She is an infectious diseases specialist accredited by the Specialist Accreditation Board, Ministry of Health.
Dr Lam has an interest in immunisation for vaccine preventable diseases. Dr Lam is a founding partner of the Infectious Disease Specialists Group. She was Head, Travellers’ Health & Vaccination Clinic at Tan Tock Seng Hospital before she left for private practice in 2000. She remains as a visiting consultant for infectious diseases at Singapore General Hospital.
Dr Lam's specialty interest is infections in immunocompromised hosts.
