Dr. Noel Leong is an Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist with a subspeciality in Reproductive Medicine and In-Vitro Fertilisation. Dr. Leong was awarded the Ministry of Health’s Human Manpower Development Planning Fellowship (HMDP) in Reproductive Medicine and Endocrinology in 1983.
His interest in the treatment of infertility started in 1978 when he obtained his specialist degree from the National University of Singapore and The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in London, and when he took over the running of the Infertility Clinic at the old KK Hospital.
In his years of service at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Dr. Leong has contributed significantly to the expansion and growth of his department into a fully fledged unit offering a comprehensive range of services, teaching and research activities in Reproductive Medicine, Reproductive Surgery and IVF.
After receiving his HMDP fellowship, Dr. Leong chose to acquire additional skills in tubal microsurgery and minimally invasive (laparoscopic and hysteroscopic) surgery by working at London’s Hammersmith Hospital and Stockholm’s Karolinska Institute. In 1991, after being awarded another HMDP fellowship, Dr. Leong took the opportunity to spend time as a Fellow at the Reproductive Biology Unit in Melbourne’s Royal Women’s Hospital.
Dr. Leong is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in Singapore and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in Northern Ireland. He is also a member of the Obstetrical and Gynecological Society of Singapore and the Singapore Medical Association.
Aside from specialising in Reproductive Medicine and Reproductive Surgery, Dr. Leong also attends to women in their pregnancies and help to deliver their babies.
