Dr. Alex KH Ooi is an approachable, senior Obstetrician & Gynecologist. He completed his specialty training at the KK Hospital for Women and Children, with time at St. Mary’s Hospital, London. He has been in private practice for over 30 years.
Dr. Ooi has served on Mount Elizabeth Hospital’s Medical Board and assisted setting up the hospital’s two state-of-the-art (keyhole) Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) operation rooms.
He has also demonstrated & lectured total laparoscopic hysterectomy at the renowned Fudan University in Shanghai, assisted in setting up MIS at ZH Sikder Women’s Medical College & Hospital in Dhaka and lectured on Safety in MIS at a Gynecology Congress in Australia. He works well with colleagues and has actively co-conducted teaching seminars and workshops. His practice includes MIS, Hysteroscopic and Open Surgery, Ultrasonography, Cancer Screening, Pregnancy Care, Management of Urine Incontinence and of Menopause (including bio-identical plant based therapy) and General Gynecology.
Dr. Ooi is also passionate in contributing to community and had volunteered at Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society Free Clinic, Methodist Welfare Society, Hospice Care Association and in Rotary and other Society charitable activities.
He was also once deputy director of Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Dr. Ooi's specialty interests are cancer screening, general gynecology, hysteroscopic and open surgery, management of urine incontinence and menopause, minimally invasive surgery, pregnancy care and ultrasonography.
