Dr. Tan Ken Jin graduated from the NUS and underwent orthopaedic surgical training in various hospitals. He was awarded the College of Surgeons Gold Medal on completion of his advanced specialty training and went on to complete two fellowship-training programs at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus (Germany) under renowned Professor Hans Zwipp, and the Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction (USA) with Dr. Mark Myerson, a world leader and pioneer in Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Tan is an orthopaedic surgeon with a subspecialty interest in foot and ankle disorders and sports injuries. Currently, his practice focuses on foot and ankle disorders and sports injuries of the lower limbs. Prior to private practice, he founded the Foot and Ankle Division and was active in the Sports Medicine Division at the National University Hospital (NUH). He also serves as visiting consultant at the Sports and Orthopedic Clinic at the National University of Singapore (NUS)’s Health Centre.
Dr. Tan has a keen interest in educating fellow doctors, students and the public in Orthopedic conditions. In his capacity as an Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and a core faculty member for the National University Health System’s Orthopaedic Residency Program, Dr. Tan played a key role in the education of future Orthopaedic specialists. As Program Director of the Foot and Ankle Education Program at NUH, he also set up the fellowship-training program to train surgeons from the region in foot and ankle surgery. He is often invited to chair and lecture at courses locally and in the region.
Dr. Tan's specialty interests are ankle sports injuries, flat feet and minimally invasive correction of bunions.
