Dr. Lawrence Khoo started his career as a medical graduate from the National University of Singapore (1989) and completed his training in internal medicine with MRCP from the UK (1993). He obtained his specialist dermatology training (1994 to 1997), after which he was awarded a scholarship to advance his training in photobiology, phototherapy and laser surgery at the world renowned Massachusetts General Hospital (teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School) in Boston in 1998.
Dr. Khoo also spent time in the Wellman’s Laboratory, which has pioneered many of the special light sources and lasers used in dermatological and aesthetic practices. Dr. Lawrence Khoo is a consultant dermatologist with extensive experience in dermatology practice.
Prior to setting up private practice at Dermatology Associates in 2005, he was a senior consultant with the National Skin Centre, taking care of psoriasis, photodermatology and phototherapy clinics, and overseeing the development of subspecialty clinics and educational programs for medical practitioners and the public. Besides general dermatological practice, Dr. Khoo was specifically trained and has special interest in the care of psoriasis patients, patients requiring phototherapy, aesthetic and laser surgery.
Despite his busy clinical schedules, Dr. Khoo was actively involved in medical education (where he was a clinical tutor for dermatology with the National University of Singapore) and research in dermatology.
Dr. Khoo's specialty interests are aesthetic and laser surgery, care of psoriases patients and phototherapy surgery.
