Dr. Yeow Yuyi is a specialist urologist with Advanced Urology. His areas of interest in Urology are Endourology and Minimally Invasive Surgery/Laparoscopy for benign and malignant conditions, including kidney and prostate conditions.
Prior to private practice, he was a Consultant in the Department of Urology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He graduated from the National University of Singapore and was elected a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He was amongst the pioneer year of residents who completed the Urology Residency Program under the National Healthcare Group (NHG) and attained his Specialist Accreditation the same year. He was appointed a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow).
In 2019, he was awarded the Healthcare Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to train under Dr. Guido Giusti in Milan, Italy in the area of advanced endourology and stone surgery. His procedural proficiency includes the innovative use of supine percutaneous nephrolithotomy and mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy. These techniques, known for their minimally invasive nature, have shown the potential to reduce hospitalization duration and expedite patient recovery. He also has particular interest in the metabolic evaluation and prevention of stone disease to reduce the morbidity and impact of recurrent urinary stones.
He is currently a Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and a Clinical Teacher with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He was committed to excellence in postgraduate medical education and was the Programme Director for the NHG Urology Residency Program from 2020 to 2023. Outside of clinical work, he has been part of the Singapore Urological Association EXCO since 2020.
His specialty interests are in urinary stones, benign prostate hyperplasia, bladder cancer, kidney cancer.
