Dr. Christine Yau is Senior Consultant and Director, Neuro-Ophthalmology, at the International Eye Cataract Retina Centre at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre and Farrer Park Medical Centre.
Dr. Yau graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2013. She completed her Ophthalmology residency at the Singapore National Eye Centre and obtained her Master of Medicine(Ophthalmology) in 2017 and specialist accreditation in 2019. She became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore, Chapter of Ophthalmologists in 2019. Dr. Yau underwent her Advanced Clinical Specialist Training in Neuro-Ophthalmology at the Singapore National Eye Centre from 2019 to 2021.
Dr. Yau was previously Consultant at the Department of Neuro-Ophthalmology at the Singapore National Eye Centre.
Dr. Yau was Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor with the SingHealth Duke-NUS Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Academic Clinical Programme. She served as Faculty on several postgraduate courses, teaching both Neuro-Ophthalmology as well as cataract surgery.
Dr. Yau is passionate about serving her patients, and was a recipient of the Singapore Health Quality Service Gold Award in 2022.
Aside from clinical work, Dr. Yau is actively involved in the education and training of undergraduates, residents, fellows and other allied health professionals. She is committed to serving the community, and regularly volunteers at outreach programmes such as community eye screening projects, and public forums.
Dr. Yau's specialty interests are in neuro-ophthalmology, cataract, dry eyes treatment, blepharitis treatment, myopia, floaters and flashes, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
